Consider Your Ways (in the New Year)

Haggai 1:3-7 - Then the Lord sent this message through the prophet Haggai: “Why are you living in luxurious houses while my house lies in ruins? This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink but are still thirsty. You put on clothes but cannot keep warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes! Thus says the LORD of Armies; Consider your ways.

This message is bang on target to all of us today. We live a life and are never satisfied. We may be happy for the moment but we have no joy. We struggle to let ends meet, we struggle to satisfy our needs and our pleasures, we struggle to satisfy our desires, we struggle to satisfy our security, but yet things just take a U turn all of a sudden!

The reason is the same. We are not taking care of the Temple of God. We as believers of Jesus Christ become priest to God. We also become substitute Head priest to a Temple: which is our body. Our hearts (our minds, our will, our nature, our conscience & our throne) is the inner Temple where God dwells. We all are more concern of our bodies and fulfilling its desires but ignore our inner Temple. Since we do this we fail to have the joy and satisfaction in our whole being.

Let us not give so much concentration to our bodily needs but more to strengthen, purify and decorate our inner Temple. This we can do by building ourselves in God’s Word, by sanctifying ourselves and by increase in the fruit of the Holy Spirit (which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control).

[ Prayer ]

Lord, You dwell in me. I am your Temple. I am sorry that I did not take care to cleanse this place. Lord I make my mind from today that I will start this process. For this I would still need your help, without which I will fail. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I Am the True Vine

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.” John 15:1

Jesus said that He is the true vine and we need to be like Him. "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit” John 15:5. The vine was Jesus referring to, was the grape vine.

In the Bible including the Old Testament grapes are referred to in many places. In the Books of Moses they were etched on the drapes used in the Tabernacle, on dresses of the Priest and many other places. Was it because God loves grapes? No. Not the fruit but the nature of the fruit. To understand this you need to understand how good grapes are grown.

Grapes are a watery fruit but are best grown in places where the climate is extreme and lacks water. You will find the sweetest grapes coming from these regions. People knowing to grow grapes will never put extra water to the plant so as to get good sweet fruit; else you land up getting watery but not so sweet grapes.

The plant being a vine does stand by its self and is supported from above. The farmer makes a frame and hangs the vine by the frame. As the plant grows, he takes the branches and by a string pulls and ties it in all directions. He does not pull it too hard so as to break it but does this so as to enable the vine to grow in all directions.

Grapes represent self sacrifice.

Only when you become like a vine grown by Jesus’ Father (Holy Spirit) who is a perfect farmer, will you be like Jesus. So like Jesus, depend totally on the Holy Spirit standing only by His grace. Not asking for prosperity of this world but living by the needs necessary. Stretching out to do the Lord’s work, not by your strength but by the power of the Holy Spirit. By doing this we will be as sweet as Jesus said in John 15:8 “that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples”.

[Prayer]

Lord Jesus, help me to surrender myself, my wants and my needs unto You. Help me die to my flesh and live by Your Spirit, that I may bear fruit as You did. Lord I do not ask for prosperity, my desires or this world but to be like Jesus. Take me by Your hands, prune, mold me and make me like Jesus. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

I shall not be in want

Psalms 23:1 - The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

If one says that the Lord as a shepherd and provides all my needs would be a word of lack of faith. The scripture says the Lord is my shepherd; a shepherd leads his herd to pastures that already exist. When the Lord blessed Abraham He gave us all that we need through him, but it was an uphill task to receive so He came as man Jesus to open the door and made it easy to receive by faith. Even after that we still have problems because of lack of faith, for this the Lord Himself came to dwell in us to build our faith and lead us to our blessings.

All your needs are ALREADY PROVIDED have faith and receive. To build your faith surrender to the Lord (Holy Spirit) who dwells in you.

[Prayer]

Lord, I thank You for all my provision which gave me through Abraham my father and made it easy for me to receive as Jesus Christ. Lord now that You dwell in me build me that I may receive your provision and never lack. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Do not just celebrate Jesus' brithday today but celebrate Jesus Christ forever by making Him a part of your family. Give your Big Brother a big hug on His birthday, He dwells in the person next to you.

Merry Christmas!

[Reference Scripture]

Psalms 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

He alone is God, so let us lift our voice to Him

Isaiah 40:12 - Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

If you have disbelieve in you, today the Lord is talking to you and wants to ask you. When the Lord created this entire world who was there to advice Him? If the Lord is not able to solve your problem, then who was it that helped Him in his work? Who else knows what will happen till the end of times other than Him? Who taught Him and gave Him understanding of all things?

If you think you are a good person and you are okay, then let me inform you that the righteousness of all mankind put together is like a drop of water in a bucket and all our sacrifices similar in capacity. All our knowledge, wisdom and understanding is just foolishness before the Lord.

If He is omnipotent, all knowing, all mighty and who's wisdom can not be measured then let us cry out to Him alone for He promises us that He will hold us in his arms and carry us through our troubles like a shepherd holding his lambs in his bosom.

[Prayer]

Father forgive me for not believing your Word. Help me Lord to break down this shell that I live in so that I realized without You I am nothing and helpless. Father I cry out to You alone for You alone can help me and save me. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scripture]

Isaiah 40:9-18

9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?

14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

16 And Lebanon (represents self righteousness) is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.

17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.

18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

Be Strong & Work!

Haggai 2:4 - Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:

Are you feeling tried or slowed down with all the resistance that is coming your way? Is the discouragement getting to you? Does the attitude of the people disappointing you? Is the light (hope) in you getting dim?

Do not let this happen to you. The Lord is saying BE STRONG I AM WITH YOU.

In the scriptures if you read where ever the Lord has appeared, it so happens that an Angel of the Lord has appeared. Human cannot come in direct presence of the Lord, it is always the Angels of the Lord, who are part of the Heavenly Body of the Lord who appear unto man. When the Lord says I AM WITH YOU, it means the Heavenly army is at your disposal to help you and protect you. You can not make use of them or let them operate for you unless you open the spiritual gate of faith. So open wide the gates of faith and fear not nor be discouraged, move forward and continue the Lord's work, for the Heavenly army is standing right behind you.

[Prayer]
Lord, as You were with Elisha, You are with me. This You have assured me again today through your Word. Lord I am sorry that I let You down, but today I assure You with all my strength I will move forward to do the work You have sent me to do. I pray for my other associates in Jesus Christ that their eyes may also be open and may they see the Army of the Lord right behind them. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scripture]
2 Kings 6:15-18
15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

You are called to be ONE

I recall a Christian Brother arguing with a lady from another belief trying to convince her that the Bible is true; all to no result only getting more rubbish from her.

In the book of Ezekiel it is written how and in what stages the other religions (in total) will come to believe in Jesus Christ. Since it is written we can not change it. That does not mean we stop preaching the Gospel to all. What I want you to understand is, firstly concentrate on to the task on hand which the Lord has written and will happen, and that is all Christians irrespective of being of any sect will all come together as one Church - one body. This is the event on hand which we need to concentrate more on.

All the events that are happening in the world against the Christians are towards this happening to unite us. So to quicken it and lessen the pain let us unite willingly so that the next stage of others seeing the glory of Christ in us and coming to believe Him will happen. The wisdom of God can not be questioned and He knows what is best and when it is best, so let us work according to Him and His word. If we do not, we will only delay, suffer more and personally loose, for His Word will surely happen.

Colossians 3:15 - And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

[Prayer]
Lord, your Word is a direction to us to receive more. Lead us by giving us understanding of your Word. Your Word is true and You will surely be glorified in all the earth, below the earth, Hades and the Heavens. Let me Lord be a maximum reaper of the harvest by working according to your Word. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]

Isaiah 45:23
23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Romans 14:11
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Philippians 2:10-11
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Revelation 5:13
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Where is your heart?

Colossians 3:2 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

We all have a heart which desires things. It is not wrong to desire but what we desire and how much of it, is where things can go wrong. All things God has made is good, but they all are not necessarily good for us. Even if they are good too much of certain things can be disastrous to our being.

Things of this physical world, needs to be discerned and desired. We should set our eyes to things which are not temporary, things which will last forever even when our life in this world ends - things of the Kingdom of God - things of the Spirit world according to His kind.

Even when we desire good things - things above, our heart is like a monkey which does not sit in one place and keeps jumping from one tree to the other. Training this monkey is what is called becoming an overcomer. The day we die if this monkey is on the wrong tree, we may land up loosing our salvation.

So please follow Jesus and learn to control this monkey and become sons of God.

[Prayer]

Lord Jesus, there were many during your time on earth, who did not want to leave the things of this world and follow You. Lord, it is your Spirit from whom I draw strength to overcome the desire for things of this world and to concentrate on things of the above world. Help me Lord in this battle against my adam nature, to become more like You. I ask this in your mighty Name, Amen.

[Reference Scripture]

Colossians 3:1-10

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The bond of perfectness

Colossians 3:14 - And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

The quickest way to bond with Jesus Christ is via charity. Charity is greater than love, better still I would put as - the magnification of love. In charity we working in love help others to prosper without any personal motive, this churns out true love from within us.

Only looking after other's worldly needs is not perfect charity. Our focus of prospering the person should be building the person in all three areas; body, mind (soul) and spirit.

It is charity that binds the different parts of the body of Christ together. It is the lack of this which is the reason of the breakup of the Church and the cause of so many ministries which do not co-ordinate with each other. The urgent need of the Church today is charity. The Church needs to be put on drips of bottles and bottles of charity as in an ICU.

It is charity that will bring the Church together and make many of our problems to disappear, because we would glorify God united.

[Prayer]

Lord Jesus, You showed us true love by the charity that bought You on earth as man and as a sacrifice for our sins. Lord, show us to imitate You and to exhibit this property of charity unto others. Bring your body (churches) together with this glue - charity. Teach each an every individual, especially the leaders the true meaning and importance of charity. I make this prayer in your mighty Name, Amen.

[Reference Scripture]

Colossians 3:12-15

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Cast Your Burden!

(Definition of anxiety: solving a problem before it arrives and thus coming to conclusion before hand.)

Tension, anxiety, depression etc. are feelings which show lack of faith. If you are living with these feeling you need to get rid of them. The Lord is saying cast these upon Me. He does not say give it to Me, but cast them. The strength you need to cast them is only possible when you get faith into you. Many come to outreaches, services and give their burdens to the Lord before the service and on the way back home take it back again.

If you want to get rid of the burden for ever make yourself to believe in the promises of the Lord by keep telling it to yourself again and again until you convinced yourself on it. Only when you do this, can you cast your burden forever upon the Lord.

Psalms 55:22 - Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

[Prayer]

Lord, forgive me for not having faith in You and for carrying my burden. You are my helper and my God who lifts me on your wings in the time of trouble. Lord, help me to build my faith in your Word, so that I can get rid of my burden and be delivered forever. I rebuke and bind the spirit of depression, sadness, anxiety, faithlessness and any other spirit that is not of your Kingdom which is in me, in your mighty Name, Amen.

Our Mistakes...

Mark 12:24 - And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

We see many things go wrong with us. We say we have faith and even keep reciting scriptures for long and still find they are not working. The main reason we make mistakes or we fail to see the power of God in our lives is firstly because of our lack of understanding of the scriptures and secondly our lack of knowledge of the Lord or the power of God.

In short it is the lack of knowledge due to which we suffer. The Word of God should be followed in spirit and truth not just in words and this can only be done when we get the true understanding.

Understanding can come only when you live the Word, that experience will increase your wisdom. As your wisdom increases you will find it easier in the future. The other way is when the wisdom of God works in you and gives you the understanding right away. Either ways the revelation of the Word will help you know the power of God and experience it.

[Prayer]

Lord, I thank You for your Spirit of Truth with which You have blessed me. Holy Spirit, reveal the understanding of the Word to me either in the natural or the supernatural way. So that I may not err or fail to experience the power of God. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Blessings versus Afflictions

When we hear the Good News, we hear a lot of promises of goodness and protection etc.. And most of us do experience it … for some time… What happens latter when things start going shaky? Is it that Word of God is not true?

The Word of God in many scriptures promises protection, prosperity, peace etc…

Psalms 34:15, 17

15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

But we see that although we make good efforts to walk in God’s way we still face problems. In fact the Word of God assures you that if God loves you, you will face problems!

Psalms 34:19

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

But it also says that His loved ones who walk in His ways will not be drowned by their problems. God will deliver His loved ones from them all.

Why does God do this? When He loves righteousness and hates evil, then why does He allow problems to the righteous (in fact at times is also the source of them)?

Psalms 7:11-12

11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

12 If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.

When we say we are righteous, it means we are on the highway of righteousness. We have started our journey on it.

Isaiah 33:8

8 The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.

On this highway there has to be constant movement, one can not stand still here. To keep the acceleration on God externally influences us. As we are tried we are expected by God to keep moving forward and not to go back. If we go backwards, we attract the wrath of God on us. If you read Psalms 7:11-12 the words ‘with the wicked’ are not part of the original script (all text written in italics in KJV are added to make scripture readable). If we read the scripture without them then it will read as: God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry every day if he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.’

God is working on us patiently and He wants us to reach our destination which is perfect righteousness as man – Jesus Christ.

So if we are walking on the highway of righteousness and face difficulties, do not be sad, but rejoice!

Firstly it is assured our problems will not overtake us.

Secondly we know that God is in hurry with us to become like His Son Jesus.

"If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all His commands I give you today...you will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country." - Deuteronomy 28:1-3

[ Prayer ]
Father in Heaven, thank You for all what You are doing in my life. I choose to always stay on the highway of righteousness. You have given me Your Holy Spirit to hold my hand and help me in my walk. Holy Spirit, help me to walk in integrity and honor with You always. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Hear the Word

Deuteronomy 28:1,2 - And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

The Lord is most understanding; He is not like a human judge who holds you for every law of the book. When it comes to the Lord, He tells us to do the best according to our understanding and according to the Word that is spoken unto us. If there was something which was wrong which you were doing and you were not aware of, the Lord does not pull you up for it. He has gone to the extent to creation a sacrifice of guilt (Lev 4:1-20, Mark 26:26-28) which is specially to take care of these matters. Jesus made this sacrifice available to us forever through his broken body in the bread He shared with us. But when there is something that is known to us as the Lord speaks to us and yet we do it; it is considered a serious sin.

So let us not take the Word that is spoken to us lightly and keep it always before our eyes that we abide by it and we do not test the Lord's wrath.

[Prayer ]

Father God, I thank You for the patience You have with me. May your grace be on me and strengthen me that I abide in the Word which You have spoken unto me. Merciful God I pray that your mercy flow abundantly on me. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scripture]

Leviticus 4:1-6, 13-20

1 Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2 "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'If a person sins unintentionally against any of the commandments of the LORD in anything which ought not to be done, and does any of them,

3 'if the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, then let him offer to the LORD for his sin which he has sinned a young bull without blemish as a sin offering.

4 'He shall bring the bull to the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the LORD, lay his hand on the bull's head, and kill the bull before the LORD.

5 'Then the anointed priest shall take some of the bull's blood and bring it to the tabernacle of meeting.

6 'The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil of the sanctuary.

13 'Now if the whole congregation of Israel sins unintentionally, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done something against any of the commandments of the LORD in anything which should not be done, and are guilty;

14 'when the sin which they have committed becomes known, then the assembly shall offer a young bull for the sin, and bring it before the tabernacle of meeting.

15 'And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before the LORD. Then the bull shall be killed before the LORD.

16 'The anointed priest shall bring some of the bull's blood to the tabernacle of meeting.

17 'Then the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil.

18 'And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the LORD, which is in the tabernacle of meeting; and he shall pour the remaining blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

19 'He shall take all the fat from it and burn it on the altar.

20 'And he shall do with the bull as he did with the bull as a sin offering; thus he shall do with it. So the priest shall make atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.

Matthew 26:26-28

26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body."

27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.

28 "For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Mark 12:29-34

29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one.

30 'And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment.

31 "And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

32 So the scribe said to Him, "Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He.

33 "And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."

34 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." But after that no one dared question Him.

Are you bearing Fruit?

John 15:4 - Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

The word used here for 'abide' in Greek 'meno' refers to 'dwelling'. Abide can also to translated as 'to come into agreement / understanding'. When Jesus said these words He did not mean to come into agreement, He meant to dwell. After the resurrection, Jesus ascended to the Father then, whom did He refer to as dwelling 'I in you'? Jesus was referring to His Spirit - the Holy Spirit.

It is only by the Holy Spirit that we get connected to Jesus - the vine. By ourselves we can not bear fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is only by the Holy Spirit can we bear the true fruit. For this we need to dwell in Him as He dwells in us. So let us drown ourselves in the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ, totally immersing ourselves, our wants, our needs, our like, our dislikes, our strength and our weaknesses as the Spirit of the Lord works within us and makes us fruitful.

[ Prayer ]

Lord Jesus, I thank You for your Spirit. I thank You Holy Spirit that You found me worthy and chose to dwell in me. Help me drown myself completely in You, surrendering my life unto You. Prune me and enrich me and help me bear all your fruit. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

What is the end like?

There is one scripture where the story of the race of the tortoise and the hare can fit. We may start our walk with the Lord with lots of energy, we may do incredible works for the Lord on our trip, we may even be blessed with many gifts that glorify and save many people on the way, but our own salvation is at question if we give up on Christ just before we cross the line (die).

There are people who have sinned throughout their lives but just before they died repented, they accepted Jesus and surrendering unto Him and were saved. But do not think we too can do the same, it may not work. Firstly knowing Jesus and the Holy Spirit, if we continue sinning, our hearts get hardened and just before we die our hearts may not be in a position to repent, accept Jesus Christ and surrender unto Him. Secondly, do we know when we will die so as to repent just in time? There are many who die instantly with great plans ahead.

When I go to minister and when a sinner repents just before death gives me great joy, but at the same time people who do incredible things for the Lord and were instrument in saving many, yet they themselves become calamity to sin gives greater grief.

Our work on earth for God's Kingdom may store for us many, many rewards in Heaven, but we should enter Heaven to receive it!

To enter Heaven what matters is at the end is: do we cross the crossing line with Christ or without Christ?

Mark 13:13b - but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

[ Prayer ]
Lord, hold me up as I walk with You, like You did with Abraham our father. Let my heart not be hardened due to any reason, such that I may cross the line, without You. And I pray for all my brothers and sisters that we may all enter into our sleep, with You. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Know what to do when in trouble?

Psalms 31:7 - I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

This scripture is very easy to say when we are on the other side of the wall but when of the troubled side we will find it very difficult to digest it. Remember it does not take much time for our troubles to totally overcome us and destroy us, but our Lord in his mercy has always made sure that our troubles are not more than what we can take. He gives us all the ability and support we need when we go through our adversities.

Always remember that the Lord loves us and will not let anything happen to us which will completely destroy us. We may ask why do I have to go through all these problems if He loves me? Now for me to answer this in general would be very difficult but by my own experiences I can assure you every experience is initiated according to our inner man - soul. If we do not want to experience these adversities we need to do something about our inner man.

I always tell people that we have two choices; one is to study God's Word, put it into our lives by living it, get the understanding and avoid bad experiences. The other choice is not to do so and let experience bring about the understanding. Either way, since the Lord loves us He will always try to save us.

[Prayer]

Lord, You are a merciful God. In your mercy You have not let me be drowned in my troubles. You want to mold me and make me like Jesus, but due to my stubbornness and mischief I made things more difficult for myself. Even in this You have not let things go out of hand. I thank You and ask You to help me take the easy route and avoid the desert experience. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

1 Peter 5:10

10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

John 16:21-22

21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Philippians 4:4

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Remember No More

The Lord, for the sake that his people receive the blessings which He has blessed them with, again and again; time and time again forgives his people. He assures them that on repentance (being sorry and forsaking old ways), He will not remember any of our iniquities.

His mercy, his grace and his love are abundant and over flows its banks for his people. Today again He is speaking to you and me, with his hands open wide saying 'come to Me, I want you to receive all the good things which I have set aside for you. Do not worry about all the mistakes you did, I have forgiven you. Do not hold on to your ways else you will not be able to come running to Me.'

Hebrew 8:12 - For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

[Prayer]

Lord, You are merciful. You love me so much that time and time again You forgive me. You want me to have all the blessings You have sent aside for me. Help me Lord to detach from my old ways and come running to You. This prayer I make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

It´s okay to stumble...

Genesis 17
1And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

After Abraham went through his wilderness experience of about 25 years, the Lord spoke to him and said "I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect". The Lord asked Abraham to walk before Him so that the Lord could hold him up if he fell and teach him to be perfect.

In the Bible the Lord has always assured us of help if we stumble. We can stumble only when we walk, standing in one place and falling is not called `stumbling' but `collapsing'. There is no scripture in the Bible where God has assured us help when we collapse.

Psalm 116
7 Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.

8 For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling,

9 that I may walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

We all have the fear of falling but worst is not moving in the fear. Also help is not assured if we walk in any direction but towards only one direction, that is towards the Righteousness of God. We have help already via the Book of Instructions (Bible – The Word of God).

Proverbs 3
21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight;

22 they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.

23 Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble;

24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Proverbs 3
10 Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.

11 I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.

12 When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.

13 Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.

14 Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men.

15 Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way.

Making mistakes is okay, for there is no human in the Bible except for Jesus who did not make mistakes. Do not stand in one place out of fear of falling, also do not fall standing in one place and expect help from God, for help will not come if you collapse. Keep on walking.

Knowing God's Will

We all know that in the Bible is written God's will. But most of us think that we need to be an expert on the Bible and know it in and out to understand God's will. The Hebrew word that used here for 'will' is 'ratsown' which is also translated 5 times in the Bible as 'pleasure' and another 5 times as 'delight'. Therefore doing God's will means to do what pleases God, and to know what pleases God we need to know God, and to know God we need to build our relation with Him, and to build our relation with Him we can use different ways and methods like by knowing His Word, by our regular communication with Him, by our imitating Him in our daily life, by witnessing Him to others, by appreciating His creation etc...

So there are many ways to know God and using all of them gives us better prospective of Him in more dimensions than just using only one. Just reading His Word or studying it is not a good idea or just praying to Him will also not help much. Our God is too awesome to understand therefore if we really thirst Him, we should use all and ever mean to reach out to Him.

The best part is, since we are made God's children right from birth, we come programmed to know Him. Therefore the best way to start is to search Him from within. So let's search our every thought, in our thinking, in our feelings etc... Is the Lord talking to me? Is what I am doing pleasing Him? Are my actions imitating Him? Am I projecting Him as I am or do I need to change in this area?....

Psalms 40:8 - I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

[Prayer]
Lord, You have called me your child. Within me You have put many ways and means to reach out to You. Help me be silent in my thoughts and actions that I may hear You speaking to me. Show me ways in which I can know You and please You. For, to please You is all that I seek. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Our First Love

Even after doing all the work, showing patience, tolerance, control, endurance and working in the Lord's Name, yet the Lord says He is not happy with us because us because we have left or given up on our first love (Revelation 2:2-4).

If all that we do is not love then what is love and why should the Lord be upset with us?

There is an evangelist who is very gifted in his oration of the Word and miracles do happen because of his calling as an evangelist. At times you can see a lot of anointing on him when he preaches. He does love the Lord and has dedicated his whole life for the Lord, but there were times when the Lord asked me to rebuke him. What was the problem? The hidden problem was self promotion, self attention. Some of his past life problems were covered but not healed. The hidden rejection was calling for attention. Due to his lack of understanding of the Word and his personal problem, he did not know the harm he was doing in the long run to those connected with him and called to serve the Lord.

The Greek word used for love is 'Agape' which correctly means 'charity'. The word charity means more than love, it means 'serving in love selflessly'. Our first charity is towards the Church of God. It means building the Temple of the Lord according to His Word. The Word of God defines in detail the way His Temple needs to be built, like He did in the shadow (Old Testament) with the Israelites to build the Scantuary. Every object and procedure is defined with an understanding and that detail holds valid even today.

Our God is God; omnipotent, all knowing, omnipresent … He has created all things, so surely He is capable to protect His people. In the Bible when the Israelites followed His Word and faced resistance there was not even one victim. It is not that we will not face resistance; in this world, we will surely face resistance. God will surely prefer live soldiers then half dead or full dead in this war against man's carnal nature induced by Satan. All are not called to become martyrs, but surely all are called to build and be a part of God's Church.

During the 8th Century the people of God underwent great persecution. They were building a church but it was not God's Church. Today we too are undergoing persecution, so the time is come to ask ourselves who's church are we building? Is it the Lord's Church according to His Word?

Revelation 2:4 - Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

[Prayer]

Lord, forgive us for laboring in vain because we do not labor according to Your Word. Lord heal your people and open their minds that they may know Your Word and follow it, to its understanding. Let the world see Your glory on Your Temple. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[Reference Scripture]

Revelation 2:2-4

2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Get a hold of your Tougue!

The tongue is one part of our body that does not have a bone therefore becomes an excuse for misuse. For people without wisdom it is the most difficult thing to take control of. Remember - even if we do lots of good work and sacrifice everything we have, but if we do not control our tongue, it can become a snare for our salvation.

Speaking is not bad but the speaking for the sake of speaking, or if it does not build someone is best avoided. The son of Sirach in the book Sirach advices us to 'be quick to hear'; to hear does not mean to listen. We should us wisdom on the words spoken and if they help us in building us then only they should be listened to, else just ignored. When speaking we should be sure that whatever we speak is necessary.

Ecclesiastes 5:2
2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

[Prayer]
Lord, help me control me tongue, give me the wisdom to know when to speak and when to keep shut. Forgive me Lord for my idol words and harsh words spoken without thought. This prayer I make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Can all our prayers get answered?

If you are a Christian let it be known to you, that you have not become one just because you wilth. It was the Lord who chose you to be called by His Name that you were able to become a Christian. But the purpose of you becoming a Christian is that you should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain. This is not just one instruction by three instructions.

The three instructions are:-

First is to bring forth fruit. That is to preach the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ and to help those invited through you to become true Christians.

Second is to 'go', which means not to remain in your own comfort zone but to move out of your comfort zone to do the first task.

Third is to keep the fruit. This means to follow up with those who were given unto you. Most preachers, evangelist, healers etc. bring the Good News unto the people, but then they leave them in the cold later on. This destroys these people even more than before with lesser chances of total change.

When we pray, we are given not all things, because not all our prayers are answered. It is only when we do all these three instructions are we assured that whatsoever we ask in Christ' Name will be given by the Father.

John 15:16 - Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

[Prayer]
Lord, I thank You for choosing me to be a Christian and to be called by your Name. Father God, forgive me for not following your instructions and then doubting You because all my prayers were not answered. Today since I learnt my mistake help me correct myself and receive all my prayers through Jesus Christ, Amen.

Just who is Precious?

I once was sharing with a friend about how much the Lord loves her and that He can even give up the lives of many people for her. She became very uncomfortable about it, for she felt that if God created all people He would not do any thing like that, He loves everybody the same. I know most people will also think the same way. Let me explain with a testimony.

Once there was an evangelist who with his team was driving down from Mumbai to Goa for an outreach. He, as usual was a harsh driver who made people traveling with him to pray more. As they were traveling at a very high speed on the road, suddenly due to a wheel problem their vehicle stopped. They were wondering why this had happened to them, since they were already late to their destination. Just as their vehicle had stopped another vehicle from behind them, overtook them. Just before their eyes the vehicle from behind got hit by another from the opposite side which was rashly driven and all of the people in both the vehicles were badly hurt. Then they realized that had their vehicle not stopped they would have been those people in that accident. Even the way their vehicle had halted was miraculous, for at that speed which they were driving the vehicle should have somersaulted.

We may see many around you who are not God's children doing well in life, but we should not be envious of them. For when the time comes God will not care about them as much He care about us. They are just like the grass in the garden having fruit trees. The grass makes the garden look beautiful, but the eyes of the gardener are not on the grass but on the fruit trees; his joy is in them.

Isaiah 43:4 - Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

[ Prayer ]
Lord God, You love me so much that You are willing to give up the lives on many people for me. Forgive me for the times I felt lonely and sad thinking You do not love me. Let me from today always remember that your eyes are always on me, watching over me. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Anyone needs comforting?

Isaiah 66:13 - As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Another of those scriptures, which people take a part of, therefore do not see the effect very time. Get this in your system almost all promises in the Bible come with a condition which need to be fulfilled. Read the promise and roundabout it, you will find the condition.
Even the free gift of salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ come with a condition which is - we need to believe in Him. Therefore even though salvation is available for all, but only those who believe in Him will be saved. In the above scripture, the comforting like that of a mother to her child is promised by the Lord only if we dwell in Jerusalem. The Word is not referring to the place Jerusalem but the spiritual state Jerusalem. The Hebrew word 'Jerusalem' means 'teaching of peace'. Dwelling in Jerusalem means - only when we are pursuing peace with God and with the people of God, will we be comforted by the Father like a mother comforts her child.
So, if you are heart broken, depressed or desperate and need comforting, go to Jerusalem for the Lord is waiting there to comfort you.

[Prayer]
Lord, Jerusalem is where your people dwell and where You comfort them. I am down and broken hearted, Lord; and in desperate need. You are my Father and my Mother and I cry out to You for comfort. Lord, show me the way to Jerusalem so that I too can be comforted by You. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Our Human Nature

To define human nature I would simple put it as a fruit bearing tree. This tree can bear different type and variety of fruits. If the tree bears mostly good fruit then it is considered a good tree. But if the tree bears sour fruits then it is considered as a corrupt tree. As the sour fruit multiple it destroys the ability of the tree to bear good fruit. The sour fruit get worms in them, these effect and destroy even the good fruits. Concentrating on the good fruit is called walking in righteousness and concentrating on the sour fruits in called living by fleshy or carnal desires.

Human nature grows like a tree grows: the trees grow and the fruits multiple, human nature grows and its goodness or evils too grows. Like tree has branches which bear leaves, flowers and fruits; so does our nature; it is build around our works, what we profess and our fruits.

Matthew 7:17-20

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

To overcome our fleshly desire or carnal desire we need to deprive nourishment to the sour fruits. They will soon or latter dry up and fall. It sounds easy but isn’t because even at the last minute if the fruit get a little nourishment it can become plump again. The strength to fight comes from the trunk. God knows that man by himself will never be able to fight therefore He took us from the tree called Adam and grafted us to the tree called Jesus Christ. Only when we abide in the tree called Jesus Christ we can draw strength from Him and shake of our sour fruits. For some this job gets done easily but for others it takes time.

John 15:5-8

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Being grafted in Jesus we need to bear good fruits but if we bear sour fruit or no fruit we get broken off.

[ Prayer ]

Father God, graft me unto Jesus forever that I may abide by Him and become like Him bearing good fruit. Let the nature of Adam that is within me die and the nature of Jesus which is your nature come alive in me. I ask this prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

The REAL Power of Love

The real power of love is not in the big things. God's love was marked with the sacrifice of His only begotten Son, so that we may live. But the power of God's love was not just by the sacrifice of His Son. The real power of His love is shown to us in the small things. The fact that He loved us even thou we did not know Him, from the time of our birth He sustained us. Even today, His love is demonstrated to us in our daily routines. The greatness of God's love continues with us through His Spirit in us.

If someone came to you one day and gave you an unimaginable big gift and disappeared not to be seen again, would it be called real love? Real love is shown by the person who lives with you and does small things for you everyday unselfishly. The power of love is not in big things but in small things that are done ceaselessly. True love heals, blesses and enriches selflessly and continuously.

Experience the real power of God's love today, open your eyes and see it, open in your hearts and feel it.

John 15:9 - As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

[Prayer]

Lord, your love is beyond measures and the power of your love unexplainable. You loved me before I started to love You. Everyday You pour out your love for me. No words can thank You for your love. Keep me always in your love and your Spirit always in me. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

How are you delivering?

Whenever we are preaching God's Word to others we should have the same attitude as Jesus did. When Jesus as man, gave the Word He considered Himself just a delivery man, He spoke the Words His father had sent Him to speak. When we go to preach or share the Word of God, we should remember that we are representing the Kingdom of God. We speak on behalf of Him so we should not speak for ourselves.

For, we have been crucified with Jesus Christ on the cross and Christ lives in us, so it is not we who should speak but it should be Christ who speaks through us. When we do this we see the effects of every word that come out of our mouth. These words will not be our words but God's Word, which is living and active. Also when people insult or try to hurt us, we will not get affected for we are not there in the picture.

John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

[Prayer]

Father God, make me like Jesus. Bring it into my understanding that I am on a mission and I represent You, it is your Spirit that should work through me and only that will change people and situations. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]

Galatians 2:20 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Do you know which category you belong to?

In Isaiah the Lord talks about three categories of people who are aware of Him. I would say as who worship or claim to worship Him.

The First category is the one who surrender themselves to the Lord. They are the Lord’s people - true Christians.

The Second category is those from the sheepfold but who have not surrendered themselves to the Lord. They are not the born-again, those who are not baptized by the Holy Spirit. If you look at the scripture, the Lord talks about those by the name of Jacob, now if you read verse 1 of the same chapter:

Isaiah 44:1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

Jacob and Israel were the names of the same person, but Jacob was the name of the person before the Lord redeemed and Israel the name after. It was only after Jacob truly changed himself inside that the Lord called him by the name Israel. In this category belong those who call themselves Christians but have not surrendered themselves to the Lord. They are the goats in the sheepfold.

The Third category is those who worship God the Father but not through Jesus. They are the lot who want to work for their salvation with their own efforts, but do not know all their efforts will be futile. They are related to the Christians but will have no share in the inheritance of the Lord.

What category do you belong to? If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord, Master and Savior you will not receive your salvation nor be able to come before God the Father. Even if you have accepted Jesus you need to follow Him (His Word) by surrendering yourself to Him. Do not get attached to this world or things of this world, become a true disciple of Jesus follow Him.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Isaiah 44:5 One shall say, I am the LORD'S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

[Prayer]

Lord Jesus, You are my Master and Lord, I surrender to You and to the will of our Father. I also want to be a part taker of the inheritance of our Father along with You. Lord Jesus, touch me and open my eyes like You did when You touched the blind and they could see. I ask this prayer in your mighty Name, Amen.

Are You Contented?

Want for better living, better electronic gadgets, better house, better cars, more pleasures etc... all this is normal human desires. But where do they stop? The only place they stop is at destroying us, making us to lose our soul and our salvation.

One of the most important properties of a Christian is to know his or her needs from his or her wants. Needs are what the Lord always commits to fulfill for those who keep His ways, but wants increases our desires of the flesh; the very thing we have to overcome, which made sin to come into man.

Let us desire more of things from the Heavenly Kingdom and less from the earthly kingdom. We need to learn to be contented in our earthly needs.

Proverbs 1:19 - So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

[ Prayer ]
Lord, my heart is weak and desires many a things. Help me Lord to know what is good for me and what isn't. I pray Lord that You pour more of your Spirit in me that I may learn to discern every small thing in my life. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Do You Really Know Who You Are?

When the Israelites were sent to spy on the enemy, all came with a negative report leaving for two Joshua and Caleb. And it was only these two who entered the Promised Land.

When the others saw the problem, they forgot who they were and were reduced to grasshoppers in their own sight. This was the first mistake they made. No doubt the giants (called Nephilim) were real great people, even greater than what Goliath was. But when Joshua and Caleb saw them they first remembered who they were and then saw their problem.

If you see your problem however big it may be, first remember who you are. Remember you worship the True and only Living God. You are a blessed person, you have authority over your situations, fallen angels (evil spirits) are bound by the words you speak in the Name of Jesus and you are the head not the tail. When you realize this, you will be over your problem and your problem will be under your feet.

The victory is first fought within and then outside. When you face any problem keep telling yourself WHO YOU ARE.

Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

[Prayer]

Lord God, You are my God. You are the one and only; Living and Almighty God. In You, I come to know who I am. The authority and victory I have over my situations. Let me never forget this even when I face small problems. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
