Be a Shepherd today!

Psalms 23:1 - The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

When Jesus said 'I am the good shepherd' He also professed that the sheep were those whom the Father gave Him. Some of us try to rule over people - like we are not shepherds but owners of the sheep. As a shepherd we need to understand that our duty is to guide the sheep and lead them to green pastures. It is the Father who owns the sheep and it is He who gives us the sheep to take care of, it is to Him that we need to answer and give an account of every sheep given unto us.

Father God, You have selected me to be a shepherd like Jesus Christ. Help me know Him better that I may imitate Him in every thing that I do. I ask this in His Name, Amen.

14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Dead and Risen with Christ

Colossians 3:1-8

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

When we receive Christ we are forgiven of our sins. Also if we sin after that and repent, we are again forgiven of our sins. But the nature to sin in us needs to be attended to or else we will continue this cycle of sin and repentance which will lead to us hardening our hearts and less repenting. This will further lead to our rejecting Christ and loosing our inheritance in the Lord.

The only way to overcome this sinful nature in us is by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is only when we join our selves to Christ, dying on the Cross and resurrecting with Him we will have victory over this sinful nature permanently. When we resurrect with Christ our purpose of our lives, should not be ours but Christ' purpose in our lives.

This dying and resurrecting has to be in the mind and spirit. This will automatically bring the flesh into control.

[Prayer]

Lord Jesus, when You died on the Cross. When You died You died for me and when You resurrected You bought victory over death unto me. Bring me to realization of this death and resurrection I had in You so that, like You I too may have victory over sin and overcome my sinful nature. I ask this in your mighty Name, Amen.

The Right and the Left Hand

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Matthew 25:41 - Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:


In Mark 10:35-40 -> James and John request Jesus that they be selected to be seated one on the right hand and the other on the left hand. Had they being mindful of the above scriptures they should have asked for both to be seated on the right.

Today's times - many think that the right is good and the left is bad.

Is God's right hand light and left hand dark? No.

God is Holy, He is light and He is Spirit. Since God is omnipresent there is no left or right to Him. When we refer to the Hand of God or the Finger of God we are referring to His Spirit. What is referred as right or left of God - refers to the righteousness or unrighteousness. Jesus Christ is seated on the throne of righteousness of God. Every thing that is unrighteous will be destroyed on the Judgment day.

Every thing of you is good if you are in the righteousness of God and everything of you is bad if you have rejected the righteousness of the Lord.

Father God, I want to dwell under your light, in your righteousness. As to your Word help me by your Spirit to dwell in your righteousness, by your Hand strengthen me and deliver me from all problems. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

Knowing All of Jesus

John 1:29 - The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The introduction which John the Baptist gives to Jesus is one of the seven, for those who know Jesus.

Son of man - Mark 9:31

Lamb of God - John 1:29

Messiah (Saviour) - John 4:42

Shepherd (Master) - John 10:1-16

Christ - Matthew 1:16, 16:16, 20

Son of God - Matthew 27:40-43, 54

Yahweh (Theo) - John 8:58, John 20:28

Knowing Jesus is not easy, for He is identified as all seven although some contradicting each other. It is only his Spirit who can reveal Jesus to you. To know Jesus you need to surrender all you knowledge and understanding of the world and via his Spirit experience Him. It is only when you know Jesus as all seven, then you will realize the true power in his Name and will have authority in Him.

Father God, I thank You for your Son Jesus Christ, who came as man and by his death and resurrection, has saved me. By his Word his Spirit guides me and reveals Himself to me. I thank You Lord for your Spirit and for building me to be like Him. Help me surrender more and more of me, so that I can be more and more like Him. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

What is it to be Righteous?

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Righteousness means to be in the right. Like truth is connected only to the Word of God similarly righteousness is also connected only to the ways of the Lord. Man's righteousness can be called as being good but they still can not be truly called righteousness. Our world and sight is too small to know the right path.

The righteousness of God can be either good or bad for man. If we are on the right side or on the right hand of God's righteousness it will prosper us and build us. But if we are on the wrong side or the left hand, it will destroy us and still make us an example. Examples for both would be Moses and Pharaoh in Exodus; both were used as instruments to glorify God.

The Lord is telling us today 'fear not' which means believe in the truth, which is in the Lord and his Word and He will lift us up with his right hand. This means we will receive all the goodness of the Lord. So, just believe in your hearts and open your hands to receive.

[Prayer]

Lord, your Word can move mountains, both physically and in spirit (our problems). Lord help me close my physical senses to the bad news, especially my eyes that read all the depressing news on newspapers and my ears that hears all the disasters on radio, television and from people. Open my spiritual eyes Lord, that I may see all the great things that You have set before me to receive. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Our Fight Starts With Victory

Hebrew 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

If you have been praying for mercy and grace, here's a reminder: We have already been given all the mercy and grace that we would ever need, we only need to come and receive it. Praise God for it!

This mercy and grace - is not because of what we did but only because of something someone else did. It is due to Jesus Christ that all mankind can receive all the mercy and grace that they need. We just need to have faith in Him to receive it.

A proof of this is; if you read the Bible before Jesus, there is no scripture where due to faith a person has been healed. It is only after the birth of Jesus we find scriptures which state people were healed due to faith. Faith allows us to tap into the abundant grace and mercy already made available. The Blood sacrificed of Jesus has confirmed this resource for us forever. Therefore the boldness is nothing but the faith which we need to have in Jesus and His Blood sacrifice to receive all the grace and mercy we need.

In overcoming temptations; we need to tell ourselves we already have the grace and mercy therefore we have already overcome it. When we do this with faith, we are taping into the grace and mercy and actually overcome the temptation. Thus our fight starts with victory.

Father God, I thank You for the abundant grace and mercy we have received by your Son. We thank You for confirming it for us by His Blood sacrifice. I am an overcomer and victorious over all my circumstances because of Him. Help me remember this all times. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

1 John 5:1-4

1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Worship thy Lord and thy God alone

Matthew 4:10 - Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.


What does worshiping means?

In simple English it can be translated as - giving reverence.

Respecting man also means giving man reverence, but that does not mean we can worship Him. Even Jesus as man, who was so perfect did not find Himself worthy of worship. It is only God who is worthy of worship. Jesus now is Spirit and is God - The Son therefore we worship Him.
Worshiping as instructed here is not silently in the heart. It is a command given to us, which we have to do it with actions / emotions and is to be done irrespective of our past, present or future. It is more than respecting, it means surrendering one's self emotionally, physically and eternally, and this is done only to the Lord.


[Prayer]
Father God, we worship You. God, only You alone are worthy of worship for You are Holy. Holy are You Lord God of all creation and worthy of all praise and worship. Help me to surrender myself so that I may worship You well and forgive me for the times I have without understanding worshiped any idols or anything else. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The key to knowing yourself

John 14:20,21 - At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Are you down, running low esteem, hate yourself or part of you?

Let me help you with this key which Jesus gave. When you love God, you will know that the Lord Jesus Christ is in God (part of the Godhead) and who He is. You will also know who you are in Jesus Christ and who Jesus Christ is, and you will also know that Christ is in you and who you are. Why did I use the words Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ and then Christ? Is there any differentiation between them?

When you love God you will know Jesus and why I used theses specific words; you will also know yourself well and will then learn to love yourself too.

So the key to knowing yourself and loving yourself all starts with loving God by keeping his commandments.

Father God, I love You and am a doer of your Word. Reveal Yourself to me that I may know Lord Jesus Christ and thus know how I am blessed in Him. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Fear thou not...

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.


The Hebrew word used here for 'fear' has to do with human fear and is not the 'fear' that is to do with 'fear of the Lord'. It is this human fear that becomes the cause of us losing faith in God. When we lose faith we lose the means by which we receive our promises. Thus fear becomes a principle cause of us losing our promises. And one of the agents that cause the fear to come is also given here. The Hebrew word used here as 'dismayed' is also translated many times in the Bible as 'look'. So the Lord is telling us 'do not look at what your eyes can see but look in spirit at what I have promised you and I will bring it into existence'.

So what are we going to look at, the things which we can see with our eyes or what we can see by faith? Especially in today's downturn... This will decide if we receive our blessings or not. Don't lose sight in Him.


[Prayer]

Father God, You are my God and all things are unto You. Nothing has or will happen without You. With You I have no fear of any thing of the air, on earth or of below the earth. Help me to not lose sight of what You have promised me so that I may not lose your promises. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Find Grace in the time of need

Hebrew 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Remember in the Scriptures, where only after the birth of Jesus, that abundant grace was made available to man. By faith we started taping unto this grace. This grace was confirmed unto man forever by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, for those who believe in it. Thus - when we approach the Cross of Jesus or approach Jesus, we are approaching the Throne of Grace.

So it's really that simple. If you are in a time of need, just approach the Throne of Grace with God in mind, so that you may find mercy and deliverance from your problems.

Lord God, You are a merciful God and our Father. You have made available to us abundant grace by your Son Jesus Christ. This You have confirmed unto us forever by His sacrifice on the Cross. Lord as I look up unto the Cross I receive your grace and mercy into my life, thus I am set free from my problems and my needs. I am blessed. In Jesus' Name I prayer, Amen.
